New U.S. Division Plans to Hire Nearly 60 Employees within Three Years

Buffalo, NY - The Erie County Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors today approved $61,000 in sales tax abatements for a Canadian company which plans to invest $2.5 million to establish a U.S. subsidiary.

All Cover Portable Solutions, a Beamsville, Ontario company which designs and manufactures retail displays, metal fencing and other structures, will do business in Buffalo as Outfront Portable Solutions. Its high-profile customer list includes: Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Tops Friendly Markets, Kroger supermarkets and Ace Hardware, as well as hundreds of other American clients.

Its boltless display systems are especially popular with customers who sell garden supplies and plants.

The privately-owned company is taking over the Buffalo Metal Fabricating plant at 50 Wecker St., on the city's Northeast side. All Cover will hire Buffalo Metal's eight current employees and expects to add another 50 workers over the next three years.

In addition to outfitting the existing 55,000-square-foot plant, All Cover will construct a new 10,000-square-foot addition.  All the renovations and new building will meet LEED standards.

"This is a win-win for the local economy.  Not only are we gaining a new business with Canadian roots, we are saving eight current jobs and anticipate the revived plant to employ nearly 60 as it gets up to speed," said ECIDA COO Al Culliton.

Canadian owner Tony Van Es is considering a more extensive Buffalo-based, U.S. manufacturing presence as demand for its products grows.

In other action, the agency board approved a new tenant for the Sonwil Distribution Center, located at 450 Sonwil Drive, in Cheektowaga.  Synergy Global Systems will lease 15,000-square-feet of space at Sonwil, bringing 40 employees from its current Amherst location.  The relocation follows the recent sale of Rochester-based Synergy's Help Desk division to Atlanta-based Earthlink.  Approximately 90 former Synergy workers, who are now employed by Earthlink, will remain at 275 Northpointe Parkway, in Amherst.
