Lori is responsible for writing, coordinating and overseeing the grant application and management process including identification of potential new funding sources for existing and proposed programs and/or services.

Prior to joining the ECIDA, Lori served as the Town of Evans Director of Community Development from 2002-2016. In that role, she was active in town planning and development issues, including advancement of economic, industrial, business, agricultural, housing and population growth in the Evans/Angola community, with an emphasis on enhancing the quality of life for citizens, improving the tax base, and promoting community assets.

During her tenure in Evans, she helped secure over $6 million dollars in funding for community improvements. Ms. Szewczyk also served as chairman of the Evans Economic Development Advisory Board; chief administer of the Evans Business Revolving Loan Fund; chair of the Lake Erie Beach Neighborhood Task Force (responsible for the development and implementation of the comprehensive LEB Revitalization Strategy); and, project leader for the "Partnering for Tourism Development in the Southtowns," initiative, which resulted in the development of an Asset Inventory; Strategic Plan; and Assessment of Farms.

Lori also worked as a real estate paralegal for several years while pursuing higher education. She received her MS in Multidisciplinary Studies from the State University College at Buffalo in 1999.

Lori's thing about Western New York is:

"No matter the season, there is always something interesting to do because Western New York has such an abundance of diverse assets. You can take the family sledding at Chestnut Ridge Park by day, and attend a performance at Shea's in the evening."
